MASALA CHAAS / SPICED BUTTERMILK

Masala chaas is one of the most popular and refreshing coolant at all the homes in Indian subcontinent when summer is at intense. This humble thirst-quenching drink is a blend of fresh yogurt, spices and herbs. The herbs and spices like roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder and fresh mint / dried mint powder can be easily found in any Indian kitchen. You can also add green chili and ginger paste to give a spicy kick to your taste buds. So try this revitalizing drink during summers to relish as the recipe goes from kitchen to yours.

Ingredient


  • 1 Cup fresh yogurt

  • 1 Tsp black salt

  • 1/2 Tsp Roasted cumin powder

  • 1/2 Tsp black pepper powder

  • 1/2 Tsp dried mint powder

  • 1 Pinch of asafoetida

  • 1 Cup Water

  • 1/4 Tsp green chili and ginger paste ( optional )

  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves ( to garnish )


Instructions


1. Set up all the ingredients.

2. Take a jug or a pitcher add curd, all spices and herbs.




3. Add water to it.

4. Blend with hand blender until bubbly and all gets churned nicely.



5.To serve, add ice cubes in empty glasses , top up with masala chass , granish with fresh mint leaves.
