ROASTED KIWI PANNA

It's sweet, it's sour, it's spicy and more over it's a refreshing homemade cooler, sure to steal your heart away !!!!

Roasted Kiwi Panna is a non fizzy tantalizing summer drink. This cooler is inspired by popular Indian homemade cooler Aam Panna . Aam Panna is made with raw mangoes. These days raw mangoes are out of sight but the hot and humid weather of Kuwait still demands thirst quenching homemade drinks. My younger one Avi , very fond of having lemonades and coolers asks me " Kuch Thanda Hai ?" after he comes home from football field. This Kiwi Panna comes to his rescue then. " Kuch Thanda Hai ?" is in Hindi which means " Have something coooool...?"

Kiwi Panna is made by blending roasted kiwi , fresh mint leaves, spices like black salt, black pepper powder, cumin powder along with ice cold water. Roasting the kiwi over flames directly gives a smoky flavour to Kiwi Panna.

IS THE RECIPE EASY ?

The recipe is quick and easy. To begin with wash and wipe the Kiwi. Roast them directly by keeping over the flames of gas stove or skew them in soaked and wiped skewers and hold over flames. You can also roast in oven but roasting till skin is charred over the flames gives a nice smoky flavour to the drink. Once done let it cool and get rid of the charred skin.

BLEND ALL !!!

Transfer the chopped roasted kiwi along with all other ingredients in a blender and grind to a smooth paste. Adjust the consistency by adding chilled water. Add less or more spices and sugar as per your taste. And here you are ready with this delightful and delicious Kiwi Panna.

MY CRISPY CRUNCHY COOLER

Those tiny black seeds found in kiwi just do more than get stuck in your teeth. They are full of essential nutrients and antioxidants. Also they give a nice crunch in each sip of panna you have. This is why I call Kiwi Panna as Crispy Crunchy Cooler too.
