This creamy and thick cinnamon-spiced Apple Banana Smoothie is super easy to make. It is full of minerals like magnesium, calcium and iron to meet your daily requirements. It keeps you full and satisfied until noon. Moreover, it is a sweet way to treat yourself in the morning with a glass full of fruity smoothie.

To make this easy and healthy smoothie all you need is

Apple - Apples are great source of vitamins and antioxidants. This fiber rich fruit comes in many varieties. I like to use the sweet red crisp apples for this smoothie however you can use any variety which is easily available in nearby supermarkets.

Banana - Other than being rich in vitamins,manganese and potassium , banana is fat free, cholesterol free, sodium free and full of dietary fiber. Banana gives thick and creamy texture to the smoothie. Naturally sweet this fruit contributes to the sweetness of the smoothie.

Milk - This nutrient rich liquid food helps the smoothie blend to perfection. Again any milk like soy milk, cow's milk, almond milk can be used in this smoothie. Even Greek yogurt or plain water does a good job.

Honey - A natural sweetener , a healthier option to table sugar if used in moderation has lot of health benefits. Just half a teaspoon is good go in two servings of the smoothie as apple and banana both are naturally sweet.

Spices and seeds

Cinnamon - Loaded with antioxidants, cinnamon is anti inflammatory warm spice. A pinch of cinnamon powder gives you a warm soothing feeling and also a nice colour to the smoothie.

Chia seeds - These tiny black beauties are full of protein and healthy fats. Chia seeds add to the texture of the smoothie. Add up in your smoothie for extra benefits.

Pumpkin seeds - Also known as pepitas, full of valuable nutrients give a nice nutty crunch when loaded on top of the smoothie.

  • 1 Apple

  • 1 Banana

  • 1 Cup chilled milk

  • 1/2 Tsp honey

  • 1 Tsp chia seeds

  • 1/4 Tsp or less cinnamon powder

  • 1 Tsp pumpkin seeds(optional)

  • Ice cubes (optional)


1.Wash , peel and slice apple and banana.

2.Add all the ingredients except pumpkin seeds in a blender. I did not add ice as the milk was chilled.

3.Blend till you get thick , creamy smoothie.

4.Serve in glass immediately.
